International : Dalarna County Council decided on Take Care as the Health Information System
Posted by brianbong on 2011/7/13 7:24:56 (547 reads)

Koblenz - July 7th 2011: The County Council of Dalarna has completed the procurement of a Health Information System for all primary and secondary healthcare institutions within the county. The award was given to Profdoc Care AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of CompuGroup Medical AG (CGM), for the Health Information System, Take Care.

Take Care will be implemented gradually with 2-3 pilot installations after the summer, 2011. The start of a complete roll-out is estimated to take place before the end of the year, beginning of 2012 and will be completed during 2013.

It feels very good having completed the agreement with Profdoc Care AB, says Staffan Johansson, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the procurement project and responsible for Dalarna County Council’s Health Information System. We have been working intensely on the procurement during 2010 and had a broad participation from the entire organization both in completing the requirement specifications as well as evaluation of the different tender submissions. Take Care has substantial support from the entire organization which will ultimately result in the successful implementation and deployment of the system.

We are proud and honored that Dalarna has selected Take Care as the future Health Information System, says Martin Williamson, Managing Director of Profdoc Care AB. During the procurement process, the requirements and wishes of the end-users were contributory to the decision criteria. This is indeed gratifying since Take Care has been developed with strong focus on user friendliness. We are convinced that we together with Dalarna County Council will complete a successful implementation and at the same time further the development of our system from a use-centric point of view.

Take Care is today mostly installed within the County of Stockholm spanning across approximately 1,600 clinical units or departments with more than 30,000 users and includes approximately 2.4 million electronic medical records stored within the same database. In addition, Take Care is being used at one University Hospital and one public hospital under Ministry of Health in Malaysia.
